Getting involved with an MYP Action Team is a fulfilling way to make a difference in the community. There are direct pathways here to help shape the work of the Manchester Young Professionals, or get more hands on with championing leadership and volunteer opportunities throughout MHT.
MYP Engage is focused on building social and community engagement connections and providing opportunities for relationship-building within MYP and the community. MYP Grow is focused on growing MYP as a thriving organization within the community of Manchester. Grow is responsible for onboarding new MYP members, helping to retain current members, and encouraging other young professionals to join. MYP Educate is focused on identifying opportunities for professional and personal development. MYP Educate organizes two major MYP programs annually: the Adulting 101 series and the Spark! YP Leadership Summit. The Adulting 101 series is presented by Bellwether Community Credit Union and is hosted three times annually. The rotating themes center on topics of interest and issues facing young professionals. The MYP Spark! Leadership Summit brings the issues faced by young professional to the forefront in a deep-dive panel discussion with leading experts followed by a solutions-driven think tank session to promote community-building, civic engagement, and leadership opportunities for MYP members. MYP Empower fosters and cultivates community partnerships with organizations that intersect with the MYP mission and vision including leading nonprofits, service organizations, educational institutions, and government affairs partners. MYP Empower focuses on developing volunteer and service projects while staying in tune with issues affecting the YP community and providing engagement opportunities for them to make a difference in their communities. The signature program of MYP Empower is the annual Find Your Cause event – a Shark Tank–style pitch event where nonprofits are selected to deliver a short pitch about their organization, available volunteer and engagement opportunities, and why young professionals might be interested in getting more involved with their cause.
