Robert Singer Honored as Greater Manchester Chamber’s Citizen of the Year

obert Singer was honored as the 2025 Citizen of the Year at the Greater Manchester Chamber’s (GMC) Citizen of the Year Celebration, presented by Elliot Health System on Thursday, March 5th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown. More than 700 members of the Greater Manchester business community gathered to celebrate Robert’s remarkable leadership, generosity, and lasting impact on the Manchester community.
A Night of Celebration
The evening began with a special reception honoring past Citizens of the Year presented by Bank of America. Attendees then enjoyed cocktails courtesy of M&T Bank. Dartmouth Health added to the festivities by sponsoring a lively photobooth for guests. In addition, attendees were able to gather for photos near a beautiful display spelling BRAVO thanks to LED Marquee and Ellie & Piper.
As attendees took their seats in the Armory Ballroom, they were welcomed by stunning floral arrangements provided by Jacques Flower Shop. This year, the centerpieces, sponsored by St. Mary’s Bank held special meaning. Each centerpiece highlighted two of the many nonprofit organizations Robert Singer has been deeply involved with throughout his years of community engagement. The evening brought together leaders from across Greater Manchester’s business, nonprofit, healthcare, and civic sectors to celebrate Robert’s extraordinary contributions to the community.
Guests enjoyed wine sponsored by LaBelle Winery, a bar sponsored by Harvey Construction, and elegant table settings provided by Devine Millimet. After the formal program, attendees gathered for a dessert reception sponsored by Eversource.
With more than 60 companies represented, the ballroom was filled with community leaders and supporters who came together to recognize Robert’s decades of leadership and service. As the program began, Past Citizen of the Year Honorees were celebrated and recognized thanks to sponsorship support of the New Hampshire Union Leader.
Recognizing a Community Champion
The Greater Manchester Chamber’s Citizen of the Year Celebration honored Robert Singer for his long-standing commitment to strengthening the Manchester community. Known for his quiet generosity and dedication to helping organizations succeed, Robert has supported numerous nonprofit and civic initiatives throughout the region.
Through his leadership, mentorship, and philanthropy, Robert has helped countless organizations grow their impact while inspiring others to give back. His contributions have strengthened Manchester’s nonprofit landscape and reinforced the spirit of collaboration that defines the region.
A highlight of the evening began with the “Voices of Impact” segment, sponsored by PMI US. This special portion of the program gave attendees the opportunity to hear from Robert Singer’s family and close friends, who shared personal reflections and stories that offered a deeper look into Robert’s character, generosity, and the relationships that have shaped his lasting impact on the Manchester community. The honoree video was created by Heartwood Media and sponsored by Needham Bank.
An Inspirational Moment
Greater Manchester Chamber Board Chair, Trinnie Houghton, along with Elliot Hospital’s CEO, Dr. Greg Baxter and GMC President and CEO, Heather McGrail presented Robert with the official title of Greater Manchester Chamber Citizen of the Year.
In accepting the award, Robert reflected on the many people and organizations that make Manchester such a special place to live and work, emphasizing the power of community and collaboration in creating meaningful change. He ended his remarks by stating that the work he’s done thus far is a “good start”.
Following his remarks, a special performance was presented by Bravo Restaurant featuring members of the Palace Theatre’s production of Cabaret. They delivered a moving rendition of “For Good” from the musical Wicked in honor of Robert and the many lives he has positively impacted. A celebration toast to conclude the evening was given by Past Citizen of the Year, Arthur Sullivan of Brady Sullivan Properties.
Robert Singer’s generosity, humility, and dedication to Manchester have made an immeasurable difference in the community. The Greater Manchester Chamber was proud to celebrate his achievements and the lasting legacy he continues to build.
