There’s never been a better time to tap into the future of Manchester’s rapidly evolving business economy and vibrant community culture.
If you share our vision for Greater Manchester, there’s no better way to lend your voice to the conversation than by joining one of our committees. Your support and engagement in our business advocacy and policy work is key. Help us enhance our region’s business climate and support the health and growth of our economy and the people who call Greater Manchester home.
The goal of this committee is to promote and enhance downtown Manchester’s economic vitality, cultural and historic resources, and quality of life. The Downtown Committee is responsible for representing the interests of downtown stakeholders and addressing critical issues like public safety, beautification, signage, and generally ensuring vibrancy and economic health of Manchester’s downtown and Millyard area.
The Government Affairs Committee monitors and tracks legislation and government-related issues on a federal and state level. This committee makes formal recommendations to the GMC Board of Directors regarding positions the Chamber should adopt on various issues. Once recommendations are adopted, the committee assists the Chamber in promoting its position.
The Membership Committee is designed to strengthen our Chamber; deliver a high-quality membership experience while ensuring the long-term stability of the organization. The committee conducts direct outreach to members to ensure the Chamber is providing value, as well as attracts new businesses to join the Chamber community. The committee also plans and implements strategies to meaningfully promote and provide resources to members.
The Economic Development Committee supports, facilitates, and enhances economic vitality with the goal of attracting new businesses and promoting the growth of existing businesses in the Greater Manchester region. Together, this committee leads the effort in ensuring the region’s new economic development department is sustainable, effective, and collaborative with the business community. Key strategies include: further develop the GMC’s air service development consortium (ASSET) to attract new flights and airlines to Manchester Boston Regional Airport; reenergizing regional cooperation among communities from across Southern New Hampshire through the development of the NH Commerce Corridor Chamber Coalition; strengthening and maintaining the Chamber’s advocacy tools to ensure the business community has an effective voice at City Hall and the State House.
Together, we can build a better community for all. The DEI Committee will forge new connections and partnerships with diverse communities and stakeholders from across the state. This Committee will serve as a resource for member businesses seeking to implement new practices intended to foster a culture of equity and inclusion in the workplace and in the communities they serve.
