“Our honoree is the 9th female to be chosen as our Citizen of the Year! She instituted a unique program called the New Hampshire Food Bank Challenge and supports the good work NH non-profit organizations do every day by helping to make lasting changes in the Greater Manchester Community.”

“Our honoree has served on served on several boards over the years, including but not limited to: Elliot Health Systems, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of Manchester, Amoskeag Industries and the NH Bar Foundation. This individual has also helped to provide $316,137 in donations and sponsorships to 129 charitable organizations since 2015.”

“Our honoree has leveraged their role in their industry to create an ideal, “Live, Work, Play,” environment in New Hampshire while assisting and supporting local organizations. This individual feels strongly about improving the community that they live and work in – and encourages their employees to do the same.”

 

The GMCC will announce the 2016 Citizen of the Year honoree prior to the Annual Dinner. This year’s dinner will be held on April 20, 2017 at the Radisson Hotel, Manchester. Since 1954, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has presented one outstanding individual with the Citizen of the Year award. This outstanding group of individuals has been paramount in shaping the local community through the history of Manchester and the region. The Citizen of the Year award recognizes an individual with outstanding leadership and citizenship in the community, while demonstrating exemplary vision, civic pride and commitment to the betterment of society.
