Membership engagement for companies and indivduals

The Manchester Young Professionals (MYP) is 1-year into its new strategic plan and has completed a successful rebrand. Engage, Empower and Educate are three pillars on which MYP is founded and our Advisory Council is optimistic about forming a new Member Engagement committee within the

The idea behind this committee is, in addition to our current program of work, to engage with our membership in other spaces. We’re on-board with the “meet them where they’re at” mentality, and we believe this will help YPs continue to engage with each other outside of our schedule of events. With this in mind, the Member Engagement Committee has developed new initiatives for 2020 that include an Ambassador program and a monthly MYP Scoop (a new member orientation, of sorts).

How MYP is Engaging

Our Ambassador Program is a concept we mirrored from our Concord friends’ YP group and we are excited to kick it off this year. These Ambassadors will not only represent MYP in our community by attending events, both MYP and partnered organizations, but also digitally. The idea behind this program is to help spread the mission of MYP more organically through word of mouth and from our own YP members’ personal networks.

The MYP Scoop will be in association with the Chamber’s monthly Scoop where YPs will get the opportunity to attend a very informal gathering at the Chamber. At this meeting, new or prospective members will learn more about MYP’s mission. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to arrive early and network with other community members, proving to be a great way to expand your network and assure familiar faces for upcoming MYP events!

How Companies Can Get Their YPs More Engaged

The MYP Advisory Council has been approached by many Manchester businesses looking to get their own YPs more involved. Due to this demand, we have created a Corporate Membership that allows our local businesses to directly invest in the pipeline and future leaders of our city. Many businesses are interested in forming their own internal YP groups and investment in MYP provides a valuable platform of programming that unites, develops and excites YPs. Corporate Investors select MYP “Champions” from their teams – emerging stars who advocate and lead engagement of their peers. As workforce retention is a top challenge for business here in NH, the MYP program serves as a vital resource to build employee happiness.
