Michael J. Skelton

President & CEO

“A key part of my role at the Chamber is serving as an advocate for our members in support of pro-business policies to elected officials like the Governor, Mayor, State Representatives and Senators.”

Michael J. Skelton joined the Chamber in June of 2014 as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mike is responsible for overall management of the organization and oversees the development and implementation of the Chamber’s strategic plan, programs, and budgets. He serves as GMCC’s key spokesperson and as an advocate for the Greater Manchester business community. Mike is a graduate of Saint Anselm College and resides in Bedford with his wife, Emily and son, Colin. He also serves on the board of directors for Stay Work Play New Hampshire and Amoskeag Industries and is a trustee of the Palace Theatre.

What is an aspect of the Chamber’s work that you think is critical to the success of the community?

A strong vision and leadership; by uniting the business community the Chamber is able to create a vision for the future of our region and provide leadership.

What place would you recommend people visit if they were new to Manchester or the region?

I would send visitors to a number of dining spots. We have so many great restaurants in the area. During the warmer months I love to take advantage of outdoor dining at any of our local restaurants.

What is unique about your role at the Chamber?

A key part of my role at the Chamber is serving as an advocate for our members in support of pro-business policies to elected officials like the governor, mayor, state representatives and senators.
